As the weather has started to warm up, spring sports are in full swing. The baseball team took a special trip over spring break to Iowa with the hopes of finding some better weather to start off their season. Unfortunately, all games that were scheduled were cancelled to to poor field conditions. However, they were still able to have a successful trip.
It started off with a three and a half hour drive to Dubuque, Iowa on Thursday, March 30 where the team stayed in a hotel. The first night was relaxed as the team swam, ate some food, and watched the movie The Field of Dreams. The movie set them up for the next day as they practiced on the actual field of dreams and listened to a speaker from the original movie! After that they changed and headed to the University of Dubuque where they received lunch, a tour, and watched the baseball team play a game. Since the scheduled scrimmage was canceled on Saturday they were able to supplement a practice inside of the University of Dubuque's new indoor football facility. After that they watched another University of Dubuque baseball game before heading back to the hotel where they relaxed for the last night. The following morning they packed up, ate breakfast, and headed on the road for Little Chute.
Although the trip did not include playing any games, it was still a success! The team was able to grow closer, which will help them be a better team in the long run. They all had a great time and will remember it for the rest of their lives.
